    2020-2021 School CalendaR NEWS

The District considered the following criteria in formulating our plan to transition from Distance Learning to Blended Learning (aka hybrid).

    1) County testing capacity

    2) County status under the Blueprint for a Safer Economy

    3) Feedback from what our neighboring school districts have learned as they opened in hybrid.

    4) The level of risk without liability coverage.

    5) The level of our student engagement and learning in distance learning.

    6) Substitute capacity for teachers and support staff.

    7) Responses of our labor partners.

    8) The transition date for EDCOE Regional Programs to a hybrid model.

The District plan is to transition from Distance Learning to Blended Learning with half the students attending in the morning (Cohort AM) and the other half of the students attending in the afternoon (Cohort PM) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Maintain Distance Learning on Wednesdays (no students on campus). At this time, District transportation will be provided for Cohort PM only.

We acknowledge the Blended Learning AM PM Model has not been communicated to our community as an option we were considering. Therefore, we are taking the following process and time to allow for families to prepare for this transition.

September 17- District survey sent to parents/guardians. One survey per child needed.

September 21 - Deadline 4PM for survey completion. If no response, the District will schedule.

September 25- Cohort AM/PM schedule provided to families via Aeries Parent Portal 4PM

    October 12 - TK/K/1/5/SDC return to school

October 19 - All students return

    Emergency Procedures

Should an emergency arise at school, we will use our emergency phone notification system to send out a message to advise you of the situation. As a parent, you can ensure that fire fighters, law enforcement, and school officials are able to handle an emergency. Please do not rush to the school to pick up your child. Emergency plans are in place to reunite students with their parents as quickly as possible.  Our most recent School Safety Plan can be found on the School Safety page of our website.
