Distance Learning through January 15, 2021
Posted 12/18/20

Mother Lode Union School District Parents/Guardians,

As you know in our County and District, we have been impacted by COVID-19 cases. To date, Mother Lode Union has had 30 staff members impacted since late October.

Like us, our County Public Health Department has been overwhelmed with the number of cases which has impacted their ability to provide contact tracing and timely communication. Additionally, we are seeing test results take 5-7 days. This is not the blame game, it is the truth. Public Health has been our partner throughout this pandemic and we respect and appreciate their hard work.

Unfortunately, we have been informed that following the holidays, it is very possible that we will be experiencing more cases in our County. In an effort to be proactive, the Mother Lode Union School District remains in distance learning for all students through Friday, January 15, 2021. This is a change from our previous plan.  We plan to return to in-person A/B schedule on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, unless otherwise communicated.

The Board will revisit this topic at their January 13, 2021, Board Meeting when more data and information will be available on COVID-19 case rates in our county, information about vaccines, county public health impact, student/family needs, and staff information/feedback.

On behalf of the Mother Lode Union School District Team, we wish you a very Happy Holiday Season!

Superintendent Dr. Marcy Guthrie
